Nice clear image of Ajihad and his weapon, one of those curved Varden sabres. This seems to be some part of the Varden dwellings in Farthen Dûr. From the looks of the background imagery I hope the city will have some scale to it. Previous stills didn’t do it much justice. Gil’ead, city where Arya is held captive by Durza the Shade:ĭurza has a spiffy costume. Interesting set design, in general the tribal look seems to be popular with the art director. This features Brom fighting a raz’ac with Eragon looking on. We’ve got something labeled cryptically as “forest” for a location: There’s the “Spine” site of Eragon finding the dragon egg: Just keep in mind these are all composites not actual complete images and may look a tand strange because of the layers and flash animation. Details are decent and things look organic to their surroundings. One nice thing about the new site is that with the little location wheel in the top left, you can see where all the non-CGI production money went. Nice shot showcases the oustanding landscapes in the film.Īlso two new wallpapers, the typical Eragon shot: To make up for the lack of elves, how about Eragon and Murtagh in the mountains: But, if a second movie occures there should be plenty of them to go round. Well more than leaning, it looks like the only elf characters besides Arya are gone… unfortunately. I’m still leaning towards Varden for previous reasons, like the banner designs, helmet designs and other visual cues. but I still can’t tell if the four chaps are elves (as they are supposed to be) or Varden? They have nice bronze armor, but that’s about all that’s clear. This one did show up in the first promo for the film back in October of 2005 but I’ll post it anyways for reasons below:

Next is another Brom/Eragon interaction shot:Īgain, nothing much to comment on other than nice lighting guys. It’d be interesting to know if this design was inspired by filming in Hungary, szablya, as they are known locally, are a pretty iconic part of Hungarian military history.

The closest historical style is various forms of mid-east sabres. He’s a very neat character so far, would it have hurt to at least armor him like a dwarf? The Varden also all appear to have curved swords (including Ajihad). As I’ve mentioned before Hrothgar looks under-armored to me, only a maille tabbard about the neck, some bracers on the wrists and what might be a bit of scale armor on the chest. Not the sort of thing usually found in films (it’s either a sword, a bow, or an axe…). That mace of Hrothgar’s is really a nifty weapon. Next up is a still of Eragon doing nothing much: However no more gaudy than many an outfit from historical periods in Asia and Africa. Interesting costumes if a bit tacky for the lady. Well it’s nice to see new stuff and this looks pretty decent. Some of the gallery images are images already seen in the trailers so I’ll let those pass by and only post the ones that haven’t appeared in any form, anywhere, before.įor all images in this post, just click on ’em to expand into glorious fullsize.įirst up is a new image of Ajihad and his daughter Nasuada: Unfortunately the latter are imbedded in the flash site but I have taken screen shots. Some of these are available in the gallery and some are backgrounds on the site for various locations. Probably the best thing about the new site is the new pictures. A new site went up for the Eragon movie and it’s about 900% better than the first one. Seems like the only time I ever post is to discuss the Eragon film… And while that’s a pretty exciting project I do like to dabble in a wider range of topics… But although something else was planned for today’s post fate stuck out her foot and tripped me up.
